We are looking to buy a property around Tarragona region.  It will be a rural property as we need the land for horses.  So therefore will not have telephone connection or internet.  so we are looking into going for something else like satalite etc.  Can anyone recommend anywhere who do this and are cheap.  I saw an advert saying that it was 150 euros for equipement and set up and then 35 euros a month for broadband.  However i can not find this advert again.  Any help would be gratefully received.

Thanks

I looked into this a few years ago but things haven?t changed that much.  OK, that?s not entirely true ? the prices have dropped a bit.  There are two types of data connections via satellite:

1)  satellite down link and telephone uplink (http://acceso.ya.com/satelite/sathome24h/)
2)  satellite down and up link

Basically if you don?t have a land line option (1), well option (1) isn?t an option.  That brings us onto option (2).  If you (or anybody else) are interested in this I?d come and work for you:

The good thing is, unless you?re in the Canaries, you?ll get away with a 96cm dish.

The point that I?m trying to make is that you?ll have to part with this amount of cash if you want a satellite uplink.  However, I did find a couple of other links which may suite you well if you live in the peninsular:

I have no experience with these systems so I cannot tell you which is the most cost effective solution.

Yes you can receive calls via VOIP.  You just need to register for a DDI number.
