Thick as two short planks

I have been told by my friend who is from France but whom lives in England,  that

1: As Spain and England (obviously) are part of the EU i wont need to complete any paperwork to live or work there and having no real knowlegde about legalities of moving to a country within the EU, it is true that i will only have to register at a police station to say i am living there?

2: Is it true that we can bring our cars over not pay any duty/tax for bringing them into another country? if so how would i go about taxing and mot’ing them?

Any advice greatfully recieved as always.

Thanks for the information links, i now know that we only need to register with police and area we are going to live in and get a NIE number which is absolutaly fantastic, thats solved one of our main issues,.
The only other issues are getting work and finding somewhere to live for when we do move there next Feb/March.
oh and pssssttt i may be blonde but i’m not really that sutpid lol

Hi Tammie, suggest you review and research the work issues very thoroughly - its not always easy to find good work with good pay.

Thanks for your advice, I will be looking into all the English Schools in Spain to find work, i deal with behaviour issues with pupils in high school eg: teaching anger management, social skills etc, dealing with child protection, personal issues, anything that interfers with their Education etc etc and have done for the past 9 years , i am also a fully qualified Youth worker so hopefully i will be able to find work in either area in spain.

My partner is very qualified in logistics (warehouse, forklift driving,  perpetual inventory etc) so hopefully again he may be able to find work

Untill we are both able to find the types of employment we want, as long as we are earning anything will do,, we arent the sort of people to sit on our butts all day.

This move is a lifestyle change for us as it is for most, the difference being we will do what it takes for this to work for us, we have thought long and hard about this decission and as we have no children to think about we thought that it was about time we did what we wanted,  before we get to old.
