my girlfriend and i are getting hitched in july but now her father is having a operation around the same time. he is in madrid and we are near barca. we are hoping we can get an extension on my tourist visa so we can reschedule our wedding later. our question has to do with the extension process called prorroga de estancia and whether it is worth giving it a shot.
after surfing the net, i have found information but nothing too current or clear. has anyone had any success with this? do we go to the office of extraneros or the national police? what do they require as far as documents? do they hold my passport? etc etc.
please advice as time is flying by for us as i arrived on may 6th and my shengen visa expires on aug. 4.
