Hello,I am new to the site,I would be grateful if someone can answer the following. My wife and I are moving to Nerja for six months from the first week in June.I have given notice in my employment and will finish the second week of May.I just need to tie a few loose ends up here and we will be off.I haven’t made any enquiries at the job centre but as I will be going to Spain I don’t know if I should inform them.I am 58 and will be living off our savings plus my wife’s pension.
I would be grateful if anyone has a similar experience.I will not be looking for a job until I return next year.I would be grateful if anyone can advise me.We may stay longer who knows.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Kind Regards Bill

You should speak to the job centre to arrange payment (or otherwise) of National Insurance while you are not working. Many years ago when I went backpacking for a couple of years they told me off (nicely) when I got back and wanted to sign on.
