We are in the process of deciding whether or not we should choose a property with a private swimming pool or community pool.  As we will be moving from London, we have no idea on what it involves to maintain a pool and the expense associated with it.  I would be grateful if you could shed some light on this matter so that we can move forward with our plan of relocating to the Mijas Costa.  Also I am trying to find a local A to Z of the area - does anyone know if there is such a thing for the mijas costa or indeed the Costa del Sol.

Thanks
Belinda

In my opinion ( I have lived in a villa with a pool and now in townhouse) I would say get a place without a pool but of course it depends on the area you are going to live in

I lived in the country in a villa with pool - our son had no friends to play with

now we live in the village that has 2 pools which are open during the summer, costs 1 euro per person per day

without the hassle of checking chlorine levels, cleaning etc etc

plus its a social thing for me as I meet up with friends there at the bar and have a coffee

but thats only my opinion

It makes sense to me as well.  Your opinion is very helpful.
