Hi I am new here, I am British and now a resident living in Tenerife and on the 15th of March I will be wedding my Filipino girlfriend in Manila. She has a daughter of 5 yrs old, and we are planning for to all live together in Tenerife. We know that we must apply at the Spanish Embassy in Manila for the permanent settlement visa. My girlfriend has already been to the UK and Tenerife on a visitors visa, I sponsored her application and demonstrated to the Spanish authourities that during her stay I was very capable of supporting her.

What we are interested to find out is the situation with regard to my girfriends daughter, will she be granted an automatic settlement visa when her Mother is granted hers?
We would appreciate any advice with regard to this situation.

When you are married this could be quite straight forward assuming the Spanish accept the Manilla wedding certificate - check these sites for more info:

The Spanish consulate in Manila will most probably only recognize your marriage if it is registered in Britain. I am Swiss married to a Filipina (legally married in Switzerland) and for us this was a long and expensive process. Weddings celebrated only in the Philippines are not considered as legal outside this country. Since you are British, you may will encounter other problems, because the Brits did not sign all bilateral agreements about free personal exchange inside the EU. But this agreements are revised all the time, so I am not sure about actual regulations. If, in the meantime, you could solve all this problems, let us know, it would be interesting for us.
