Hi I’ve been doing a bit of homework about the different regions in Spain and think maybe Orihuela, Costa Blanca may suit me and my family.  Does anyone know anything about this area???

Also my husband has his own business here in the UK, he does pattern imprinted concrete driveways and also industrial concrete flooring, do you think there may be a possiblility of relocating his business along with us, or alternatively what would be the chances of getting a job over in Spain doing this type of thing.  ANy commens atall would be greatly appreciated.

Well, there’s still a thriving construction industry here, so I’d imagine it would be possible to make a go of a business related to real estate development…

Thank you for your help, we have decided to sell our home here and rent for six months in Spain so we can really get a feel for what we want to get out of moving abroad, I’m really excited and have valuers coming round to our house next weekx Terri

It would easier to help you if you asked specific questions - apart from the concrete business question (yes you could make this work - there are others doing it but lots of people buy houses that need the garden etc finishing.)

Renting is probably a good option to see if you like it. there is loads of info on the web - not all of it is accurate but gives you an idea. Good luck.

I met a Spanish lady and we own a legal property sales company ( see THIS TIME ITS TRUE post in the BUSINESS SERVICES section or just visit http://www.bcvillas.com) Life here is good and cheaper than the UK - this area could be right for you as there are plenty of schools and your husband could probably find work providing he adopts a sensible pricing policy - you cant charge UK prices here! but you dont need to either with the lower cost of living. I used mainly forums and I also called up estate agents in Spain being really cheeky and asked as many questions as possible, I needed to find somewhere where the state schools around the area had a high percentage of british children to make it as easy as possible for my son to integrate, also I needed to find somewhere which it would be possible for my husband to find a job in construction so we settled on Torrevieja, we will rent probably on an urb around the area for six months while we look for somewhere suitable to buy probably somewhere more inland and more spanish, less expat .  Terri

Maybe I could help if you are looking for somewhere inland - I have just re-located to the north-east of Granada, and this is well worth a look as property prices are still relatively low.

I have some cave-homes listed on my site, as well as conventional houses, villas and apartments.

You can’t have it both ways though 😊  as you get further inland and more Spanish, you will find less brit kids in the local schools!
