Hi there,
I guess one would have to be diabetic and be using the same medications, known by the same names (which they probably aren’t) to be able to tell you this eh?

Aspirin is really cheap though.

Hi I am a type 2 diabetic living in barcelona. As I am of working age and as I am now paying social socuirty I am eligable to buy medication at a reduced rate through CatSalut (the catayunya heaalth service - there is one for each provience)

I box of metformin (called metformina here) cost 28cents a box! I dont take any of the other meds you take.

Even better I now can get test strips and needs through my Dr’s nurse

Hope this helps

Certainly here the price you pay relates to the cost of the actual medication, rather than a fixed prescription fee.  So out of patent generic stuff like aspirin costs pence, whereas newer stuff like anti-virals can be very expensive.  Make sure to get the generic name of your medication from your doctor, and yes if you are paying your stamp and have a SIP card remember to show that too so you get big discounts if a medication is actually prescribed for you,

The other thing I have found surprising is how little you actually need a prescription for in the first place!
