My 3 month tourist visa expired only 9 days ago, because I was leaving, but now, I want to continue travelling… do you think is possible to renew it going to Andorra or Suitzerland (non EC countries), even if Im 10 days over? Please, if anyone can give some advice, or tips, would be great cause Im very afraid the spanich aduana can stop me and do me something…anyway, im a girl travelling, very far away from the inmigrants issues they got….why would they stop on my case, i think? Anyway, Im afraid cause i dont want to return yet…and I dont want to be illegal. 😕........thanks for your help!!!

Um, two options really: stay and be safe. As long as you’re still in Spain the chances of getting caught are extremely low and they really don’t care! Or go to Andorra and renew your visa even though they don’t care as per the above.

But you mentioned you don’t want to be illegal, so perhaps you can apply for a visa extension. Go explain your situation and you may be able to apply for a visa extension. Then again if they see that you’re already illegal they may get you right there.

Note: none of the above can be considered proper legal advice.

Ok, thanks for your advice….!
I think the best way now is to renew it in Andorra, as its on my way, and Im only 10 days overstayd, and then Im going back to France and maybe to Italy….
So…you think going to Andorra is a good possibility? You think its easy for they to stamp my passport for the 3 months? Is there a possibility that they only give time to go to Madrid and take a plane back to Chile? Thanks a lot.

Hi, Good luck. I think your situation is different to mine. If I was just on a holiday I would take the risk to renew my visa in a non-Schengen country but I will be studying and don’t want to risk being illegal, being deported etc. while I’m a student.

Therefore, I am flying back to Australia and buying another ticket back to Europe. An expensive way to go! Don’t waste the money if you’re just on a holiday. I wouldn’t.

Cheers,
Rachel (Australia)
