This is Bert Kampers, living in Edificio Sirena on Avenida del Puerto overlooking the Fishing boats.

Below our building are several restaurants and the Restaurant called:LA LONJA PLAYA is using a FOGHORN on a regular basis. This is noise is extremely loud and annoying.
In addition, I have a dog who starts barking when this happens, because it hurts his ears.

Question:
1. Is it legal for a restaurant to use a Foghorn, also regarding the decibels limit.
PS: I have warned them already twice, but to no avail.

Hope some one can advise

thanks

Bert

I would think it was against the law. Go to your local police station and denounce them or ask the restaurant for their complaints book.

Bert, can you get by with broken Spanish? I’ve found the Police to be quite patient and a few of them know a bit of English to help get by in cases like that.

Every restaurant/bar/whatever, by law has to have “ojas de reclamacion” at the disposal of their customer.
Ask for one of these (quiero una oja de reclamacion, por favor) in the restaurant, at least they know you are serious.
I am sure they are much more willing to listen to you then.
Especially because loud noises from bars etc. has become somewhat of an issue lately.
If i remember correctly, an establishment can only produce 30db outside.
I fart louder!!!
