hopefully you can help me with a small (!!!!) problem.
I am engaged to a girl from South Africa, I’m living in England and visit Spain regularly to be with her. We decided recently to marry. We do have a small problem though. She has overstayed the visa issued to her, if she goes back to SA the govenment will suspend her passport for 3 years and even if i go there and marry her i will not be able to bring her back to england.
Is there a way that any of you know of us getting married in Spain which will allow us to live together in england and travel back to Spain to see her family.
your going to have big problem with this one , exgirlfriend was SA aswell and had lot problem with her pasport she marred now and living in Uk time you went to some one that would know the law on this one
jurdy
so you recomend a lawyer then? spanish, SA or english. We are callig SA embassy in Madrid monday. I have several pending emails to british home office too.
I can Assure you that the Madrid Consulate will do no MARRIAGES at all…. They can find copies of Marriage certificates. Passports, Emergency Help for UK Citizens….but not make marriage certificates….
The reason why I am saying go to a Lawyer is because “Technically” your girlfriend is now an illegal immigrant in Spain With no Visa no Papers to Stay…. Even though a large percentage are like that here in Spain the law is changing and Police are asking more and more for Passports and identity controls here in Spain I carry my DNI card and passport all the time here….
I wish you the best of luck and have my fingers toes and legs crossed that everything for you goes really well
Which I am sure it will
Lawyers were I am are really good my Lawyer has today got my girlfriend Residence Papers…
I hope the same for you!
It is real kind of you after ready what you advice for this young man, i will real like to ask you some fews words please , me and my girl friend real want to come and married there is spain but we don,t know how easy it is ,, she is dutch and iam africa , we have been planning it for some coups of months now to come but we don,t know any lawyers there who can help us and which city is the best please to go . maybe you help us in some advice . thanks i stop hear untill i hear from you .
I had helped my ex gf to be a legal resident in Spain a few months ago. And I must tell you it’s not the easiest thing to do. My ex had also over extended her visa by a couple of years and was officially considered an illegal immigrant. Other then her marrying me it really is a tough task to accomplish. Every other lawyer will tell you something differently.
We were living in Almeria at that time and found a place called AlmeriaAcoge, which they assist illegal immigrants in all legal matter, and can assign free lawyers to file your case. To gather a good case, my ex had to be able to proof that she has been living in Spain for 5 years, and just empadronamiento is not enough. I cannot recall all other details right now. But try to locate almeriaacoge or similar in other cities.
btw, MAC31 is correct. The police has been aggressive for some time now on illegals and doing alot of identification controls, in which I have to carry my DNI all the time.
if u still want to get married i can help u.
just send to me email
