Hi! I’m new to the forums and so glad I found them. I did a bit of reading but didn’t find anything really specific to my question.
Anyway my friend and I are planning on moving to Spain in this summer.

1. How hard is it to find “under the table” jobs? I know it isn’t exactly recommended but how likely is it you would be caught?

Next and my main question is about overstaying your 3 month tourist visa.

3. We are planning on living in Spain. If we stay there for under our 3 months (but close to the expiration) do we have to leave Europe or only the Schengen countries? How long will it be before we could return to Spain for a fresh 3 months? Could you leave Spain and fly to the UK (or outside the Schengen countries) then back for a fresh 3 months? I guess I’m just confused on the whole situation of how long you have to be out before you can come back.

4. If we over stay the 3 months can we cross the border by car into France then by rail to England? Will we face passport checks? and if so, how do you avoid that?

5. What is the best way to leave the country if you do over stay the 3 months? Rail, car, plane?

6. Also if we DO stay under 3 months in Spain then leave and get our passport stamped in a different country does that allow us still the time we have left in Spain then 3 months in the country we just got the stamp for? can it be another Schengen country or does it have to be a non-Schengen country?

Sorry this is really long but any help/advice or experiences you have had or know of would be MUCH appreciated.

Hi, I can only answer one very small part of your email - the jobs you likely to get under the table are cleaning and gardening as far as i know…

Okay, that doesn’t sound too bad. I’m really looking at this to travel and for a learning experience. My friend hasn’t been out of the country but I went to France a few years ago so I sorta have a feel for border/passport checks.

Have either of you worked under the table?

Maybe, but it’s not an easy or copasetic topic for public forums.

....
2. If you have worked illegally in Spain, what job(s) did you do? How did you obtain them?

This is not a question for a public forum. Do you have common sense?

Sorry this is really long ......

No problem if it is long, the problem is the content of the post. Why don?t you go and introduce yourself and tell us who you are. It is like going to a meeting without saying Good evening!

Thank you Winters and welcome to the Forum!

There are not passport checks if you go to Portugal crossing in Badajoz. This week there were passport checks crossing to France because it is a hot-zone.
