Hi ,

I hope this question has not already been asked and answered , but here goes…
I have just gotten my Spanish NIE number (this was required for my job here) , I now know that it is needed for employment , to buy or rent property etc etc etc . My question is , where do I go from here? What is residencia? etc…
Also , am I eligable to apply for health care , unemployment etc etc with my NIE number or not?
I am very new and very confused , so any advice would be appreciated?

Regards

Lee

Lee,

Suggest you download the regulations document - that will explain residencia. If you are working on a contract ie in the system yes you can get Nat Health cover. You will need to get the NI number from the Health dept offices near you in your region.

N.I.E. (EX14) / RESIDENCIA (EX16)
