Should still be valid.

You may not need it at Seguridad Social anyway.

Yes its like death and taxation - a certainty - your NIE goes with you to the grave.

Kris: NIE covered?

Sagrada Familia is actually in Eixample… on the right side (derecha). More importantly when it comes to Eixample, is whether it’s north or south. The southern parts of Eixample are generally nicer, except for the areas around Gracia. This is a generalization of course and you’ll find good and bad pockets in either. I guess you gotta figure out your priorities. I’m guessing you don’t drive, so stick close to the metro stops.

hey,
NIE….... i went to social security office, and i had to have the original document, which sucked!! so back to the police station to get a centro gestor (renewal form) which i’m currently filling out, only good thing is you don’t need to que to hand it in. then it will be back to the social security office again, third time and they don’t speak English there!!

Flat hunting’s going ok, but if I’m going to be doing bar work, there isn’t much point in venturing too far from la rambla, Sagrada Familia was a a really nice flat, with amazing view, but too far i think, especially to have to get the metro all the time on a bar wage!!

tip for the website, they should get ready filled out NIE, Social Security & Centro Gestor forms cause there pretty hard going if you Spanish is vague.

Thanks. K.

Gotta luv the admin.

Having said that when I`ve dealt with SS they never ask for my NIE number, now I`m worried.

Expats should always have language there no 1 priority before leaving there country of origin, if other nationalities can be bothered to learn, I find no reason why English should be any different.
