I’m a US citizen and work in the US.  My company has offices in Spain.  Is it possible for me to do my normal job from one of our offices in Spain for a couple of months?  I would continue to report to my boss in the US and get paid in the US.

Do I need to get a visa or can I just arrive on the Visa Waiver, as long as I don’t stay longer than 90 days?

Thanks.

Legally you aren’t supposed to do any work in Spain on Visa Waiver, you’re supposed to get a work permit. I wouldn’t anticipate you haven’t any problems as long as you’re careful and don’t stay longer than your 90 days however. Obviously this isn’t legal advice, just friendly help. 😊

Hmm.  I just searched around on the Spanish consulate web site.  On the page about visas, it says this:

“US citizens who wish to stay in Spain for tourist or business purposes for up to 90 days do not need a visa. They should travel with a round trip air ticket and a passport valid for a minimum of six months.”

So I guess it depends on how you define “business purposes”.  I should probably contact the consulate to find out for sure.

I also found information about visas to work in Spain.  But that seems to be for people who are going to live in Spain, and be an employee of a company in Spain.

Thanks for the reply.
