Banking in Madrid for Expats/non Spaniards

Just to give you my experience:

Caixa Nova in Las Rozas de Madrid treated me very well to open an account with them. for the newcomers, you will find it quite dificult to opn an account just with your passport:-)

PS: they are not paying me for this:-)

Hi Wendone,
Why would it be difficult to open an account with just your passport? I did it twice, no problems at all. Not all account types are available to you, but that’s to be expected.

Glad to hear Caixa Nova is working out though!

I heard from a lot of non Spaniards that it is difficult to open an account without NIE and I also had some difficulties. That’s why;-)
