Spain Expat has seen its visitors, pageviews and nearly every measurable statistic grow significantly over the last three months. We plan to maintain that trend over the next year, obviously.
As of July 2007:
Spain Expat currently receives over 50,000 unique visitors per month. Those visitors are looking at over 140,000 pageviews and racking up over 500,000 “hits” per month (although we all know “hits” are rather meaningless!). So your ad could reach up to 50,000 individual expats or soon-to-be expats every month.
The average CTR/page for our Google Adsense program is 7.0% and 1.8% per ad unit. Speaking of Google, we strongly encourage you to use Google’s Adwords program for your promotional efforts. A note about brand recognition
Brand recognition is often the ignored reward of internet advertising. Recently, a leading information site for people moving abroad visited with a group of overseas study abroad participants. When asked how they had selected their study abroad program, the students overwhelmingly answered that they had discussed the program with their study abroad advisor, faculty, friend, or a representative of the organization and were sold. Further questioning revealed that nearly all of the students had visited at least one study abroad search directory on-line, several had visited several sites multiple times. It takes several encounters for consumers to retain a brand. International education and student travel may never be a choice that can be made with an on-line shopping cart, however the internet may well be the point at which consumers discover their options and comparative shop.
Credibility- Students are often cynical consumers. If they visit their favorite or respected source of information and cannot find your program they may not believe that you have a legitimate operation. Advertising builds credibility.
